Richard A. Brake, Jr., fondly known as Rick to his loved ones, transitioned from this world on January 25, 2025, at UC Medical Center at the age of 66. Born on October 23, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Rick's life was characterized by a spirit of adventure and a heart of generosity, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and courage.

Throughout his career as an Outbound Freight Handler with Amazon Air, Rick exemplified unwavering dedication and hard work. Beyond his professional life, he was a passionate marathon runner, embodying a commitment to fitness and pushing his physical boundaries. His love for challenging himself was a testament to his resilient and determined nature.

Rick's zest for life extended to his adventurous travels around the world with his cherished wife, Nancy (Bullock) Brake. Their shared experiences, from leisurely rounds of golf to thrilling snorkeling excursions, epitomized a life lived to the fullest. With Nancy by his side as a true partner, Rick embraced each moment with joy and enthusiasm, seeking out the beauty and wonder of every journey.

A man of extraordinary generosity, Rick's final act of giving was as an organ donor, providing life-saving gifts to ten individuals. His selfless gesture epitomizes his kind-hearted and compassionate nature, leaving a lasting impact on those he touched.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, his brothers Tim (Kim) Brake and Steve Brake, sister-in-law Susan Bullock Clore, brother-in-law William (Nancy) Bullock, and nephew Chase Clore. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard A. and Arlene (Buchert) Brake, Sr.

A graveside service in memory of Rick will be held on January 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Hebron Lutheran Cemetery in Hebron, Kentucky.

In honor of Rick's memory, memorial contributions may be made to Network for Hope at 615 Elsinore Place, #400, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
