Marcus "Jose" Hensley, born on September 10, 1957, in Harlan, KY, passed away on January 21, 2025, at home. He was the son of the late Marcus Hensley and Elena Poteet Hoskins, and step-father, James Hoskins. Jose was a dedicated self-employed contractor specializing in home and commercial restoration, displaying exceptional versatility in his craft. Known for his love of the outdoors, Jose enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and hunting, embodying a true outdoorsman. He was an active participant in Covington softball leagues for many years and had a deep passion for activities such as playing the guitar, cards, chess, and sudoku puzzles. A music enthusiast across various genres, Jose was also a devoted Bengals fan, ever accompanied by his loyal companion, Cooper.

His unwavering commitment to family was evident in every aspect of his life, receiving it with immense pride and love - truly the heart and soul of his family. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Teresa “Teri” Hoffman Hensley, daughter Jamie Lynn Hensley, son Marcus “Adam” Hensley, siblings Marsha Hunt, James Klein, and Margie Klein, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jose touched the lives of many. Preceded in death by siblings Karen Boles, Fran Klienmann, Addie “Pauline” Rassche, and Darrell Hensley.

A visitation to honor Jose will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home - Chapel B in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Holy Cross Church in Latonia, officiated by Fr. Trinity Knight.

Jose's memory will live on through the lives he touched with his love for family, nature, and the joy he brought to those around him.
