Connie L. Underwood (O'Connell), 81, of Ludlow, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born on Sunday, September 5, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Connie's life was a testament to love, faith, and a steadfast determination to embrace life to the fullest.

Family meant everything to Connie, and her role as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother was her greatest joy and accomplishment. Her legacy of unwavering love, wisdom, and resilience will continue to shape and inspire her family for generations to come.

From her childhood days as a swimmer for Coca Cola, where she harbored a dream of swimming the English Channel, to her work as a cocktail waitress and her legendary skills in cooking and baking, Connie's adventurous spirit and culinary talent were cherished by all who knew her. She was a faithful follower of the Catholic faith and a passionate supporter of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Green Bay Packers.

Connie's warm and welcoming nature meant she never met a stranger and was loved by everyone she encountered. Her impact will be deeply felt and missed by many.

Survived by her husband of 67 years, Joseph E. Underwood, Sr., children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, sisters, and extended family members, Connie leaves behind a lasting imprint of love and joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and two children.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Connie will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
