Spice, sugar, and holiday sweaters will be prominent in Covington this weekend. The city is hosting a variety of events to celebrate the festive season.
Braxton Brewing Co. will hold its Gingerbread House Competition tonight. Participants do not need architectural skills but should be prepared for challenges such as fixing a crumbling roof without tasting their fingers.
Covington's Parks & Recreation Department is organizing Happy COV Holidays on Friday at the Commission Chambers in City Hall. This free event invites families to enjoy photos with Santa, ornament decorating, and other holiday activities. Attendees can also drop off letters to Santa at the North Pole mailbox in the City Hall lobby.
The #spikow2.5 – 10 Year Wedding Event and Archive will take place at Pique on Friday. This exhibition celebrates artists Clint Basinger and Lindsey Whittle’s anniversary with an archive from their previous wedding events, including cake, pie, karaoke, and performances.
On Saturday, Santa and Mrs. Claus will attend Brunch with Santa at The Standard. Children receive a free hot chocolate with a kid’s meal purchase and can decorate their own mugs.
Chad’s Christmas Extravaganza will feature holiday movies, milk, cookies, and crafting activities for all ages at Creative House of Art & Design on Saturday.
The Ugly Sweater Party! at The Standard encourages attendees to wear festive sweaters on Saturday night while participating in a White Elephant Gift Exchange.
Sunday marks The Standard's first Holiday Market under a heated tent on its patio. Vendors include Laughing Bees Honey and Roebling Point Books & Coffee among others.
Live music performances are scheduled throughout the weekend across various venues including Madison Theater and Molly Malone’s Irish Pub & Restaurant.
Additional events include wine tastings, farmers markets, food tours, and workshops happening around Covington during the weekend.
