David A. Osborne Council Member | City of Florence
The City of Florence has announced the passing of longtime Councilmember David A. Osborne, who died on January 10, 2025, at the age of 84.
David Osborne dedicated nearly half a century to serving Florence, playing a significant role in the city's development from its small-town roots to its present state. His leadership and service are integral to Florence's identity, and his contributions will remain memorable.
A U.S. Army veteran, Osborne also retired from the Boone County Fiscal Court and was an active member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. In retirement, he continued his community involvement as a Public Safety Assistant at CVG Airport.
Osborne's faith was central to his life. As a committed member of First Church of Christ, he embodied values of kindness and generosity daily. The church began in the Florence Historic Main Street Firehouse basement in the 1960s.
He is survived by his wife Pamela, with whom he shared nearly 45 years; daughter Kelli Ann Osborne (Amy Ford); son Kevin Osborne (Anna); and granddaughters Kate and Caroline Osborne. He will be missed by nephews, extended family, friends, and colleagues.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to noon at First Church of Christ in Burlington, Kentucky. A Celebration of Life service will follow at noon. Burial will be private at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Church of Christ or a charity of choice. Condolences may be shared online at www.stithfuneralhome.com.
Florence mourns the loss of Councilmember Osborne but cherishes his legacy in the city he loved and served so passionately.
