The City of Florence is set to organize the Valentines for Troops program this Valentine's Day, aiming to send heartfelt messages to troops deployed overseas. The initiative encourages community members to drop off handmade cards, handwritten letters, or notes at the Administration Department from January 13-17.
Participants are asked to adhere to specific guidelines. The deadline for card submissions is January 17, 2025. Cards should be no larger than 8.5" x 11", and envelopes are not needed. Glitter or materials that might break off should be avoided. Including personal photos of the sender's family, church, or classroom is encouraged. Messages should be positive and begin with salutations such as “Dear Hero” or “Dear Brave One.” All cards will undergo a screening process for appropriateness.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to brighten the day of our brave men and women in uniform and show them how much we care," stated a representative from the city administration.
For further information about participation in the Valentines for Troops program, individuals can contact the Administration Department at 859-647-8177.
