City offices closed Monday

Aug 29, 2024

COVINGTON, Ky. – Offices at City Hall at 20 W. Pike St. will be closed Monday for the federal Labor Day holiday and will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Labor Day was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century as a day designated to honor the American worker and became a federal holiday in 1894. The holiday is generally celebrated with cookouts, parades, all-around revelry, and – in Greater Cincinnati’s case – fireworks on the river.

However, it is important to remember that Covington’s police officers and firefighters do not get the day off.

"Please be safe and in turn help Covington’s First Responders safe as they put in long hours this three-day weekend."
