The City of Florence, Kentucky, has scheduled a public hearing to address potential amendments to zoning regulations. The event is set for Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 6:45 p.m. inside the Council Chambers of the Florence Government Center, located at 8100 Ewing Boulevard.
The hearing will consider Resolution R-24-036-A from the Boone County Planning Commission. This resolution involves proposed changes to the Boone County Zoning Regulations, affecting the Boone Fiscal Court and the legislative bodies of Florence, Walton, and Union. The intention is to regulate and define Solar Energy Systems and Battery Storage Facilities while identifying appropriate zoning districts for these uses within the Boone County Planning Unit.
The proposed amendments pertain to several sections of the zoning regulations, including Article 40, Section 4000; Article 5, Sections 505.1 through 505.5; and Article 31, Sections 3117 and 3118. These changes come with recommended terms and provisions outlined in the Technical Design Review Committee Report.
All interested citizens and organizations in the city are encouraged to participate in the public hearing to offer oral or written feedback on the proposed amendments.
