Snow and ice continue to disrupt trash and recycling collection in Covington, Kentucky. Rumpke Waste & Recycling has implemented a one-day-delay plan, which will remain in effect today and Saturday. This means that areas typically serviced on Thursday will have their trash collected today, while Friday routes will be addressed tomorrow.
Several challenges could affect this schedule. A new snowstorm is expected this afternoon, but the specifics of its impact are still uncertain. Additionally, remnants from the previous storm and parked vehicles covered with snow are obstructing access to some trash and recycling carts. If a cart is not collected while others on the street are, it may not be picked up until the next scheduled collection day. In such cases, Rumpke assures residents that drivers will collect additional material during the next visit.

“We appreciate people’s patience,” said Sheila Fields, Covington’s Solid Waste and Recycling Manager. “We’re in constant contact with Rumpke and their drivers are doing what they can, but the snow, cold temperatures, and somewhat unpredictable forecast are interfering.”
