Variety of events planned this weekend in Covington

COVINGTON, Ky. – Various events are scheduled this weekend for residents and visitors in Covington, Kentucky. The activities range from artistic workshops to live music performances.

Braxton Brewing Co. is hosting an event to celebrate the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s 150th anniversary with a new beer called Safari Lemongrass Lager. "Saturday’s Party in the Safari at Braxton Brewing Company is going to have a special animal encounter with animals from the Cincinnati Zoo, face art for the kiddos, and live music from the Tadcasters."

For those interested in personal development, Handy Shop + Studio offers a Vision Board Workshop led by Shaheen Miro. "You’ll learn how to clarify your deepest desires, set intentions and craft meaningful affirmations," said Miro. Participants will receive materials such as a vision board canvas and tools for creating their boards.

Local artist Melissa Mauk will present her creative processes at Purple Paisley, Local Artisan Shop. This event provides insights into how she creates polymer beads and woven bracelets.

A Beginner Crochet Washcloth Workshop at Handzy Shop + Studio aims to teach attendees basic crochet skills. The workshop fee includes supplies like yarn and crochet hooks.

Live music performances are lined up throughout various venues: Grady Burton will perform at Smoke Justis; The Missy Werner Band will be at Molly Malone’s Irish Pub & Restaurant; Estrada Do Sol at Juniper’s; Leroy Ellington also at Smoke Justis; Rah D & Dru Omar performing at Galaxie on Friday; Cincy Silent Disco: Cosplay Party will take place at Madison Theater on Saturday along with performances by The Nomads Trio at Juniper’s and The Bluebirds Duo at Smoke Justis.

Additional events include a wine tasting tonight at Crafts & Vines, bingo on Friday night at Artmarkit, and a late-night painting session featuring Bob Ross's style also taking place there on Saturday.

Covington Farmers Market is another attraction happening on Saturday morning hosted by Braxton Brewing Co., while Purple Paisley hosts a Kool Cat Princess Art Class aimed towards children.
