Covington hosts multiple festivals including Oktoberfest this weekend

COVINGTON, Ky. – The city is set to host a series of annual events this weekend, including Oktoberfest, the "twilight" event at Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center, and a family festival for young children.

Residents and visitors can also look forward to live music performances, football-watching events, the weekly farmers market, food tours, and more.

Crafts & Vines will offer a unique cigar experience on its patio tonight with Wine & Cigars. Straus Tobacconist will provide two cigar pairings that can be enjoyed with port and madeira from Cutting Edge Selections. These pairings must be purchased separately from Straus Tobacconist. Additional cigars will also be available for purchase. Limited patio seating is available for this event.

On Saturday, families with children aged six and under are invited to the third-annual Early Childhood Fall Fest outside the Lincoln Grant Scholar House at 824 Greenup St. and in Randolph Park. Sponsored by the Read Ready Covington Coalition, the event features activities such as Touch-a-Truck with the Covington Fire Department, WAVE on Wheels Tide Pool presentation by Newport Aquarium and WAVE Foundation, live music, hot dogs, snacks, drinks, goodie bags, games, and prizes.

Covington Oktoberfest 2024 returns to Goebel Park in MainStrasse Village from Friday through Sunday. The festival includes local food and craft vendors like Hangry Omar’s and Bavarian Nuts; live music; interactive activities; competitions; and Braxton beers. A traditional seated German dinner called Festzelt will feature four Bavarian courses along with beer or other beverages.

Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center's Twilight at the Carnival event takes place on Saturday evening. This event includes live music performances by Baker Hunt artists; art demonstrations; games; raffles; an art show; carnival dishes prepared by Baker Hunt chefs; and proceeds supporting Baker Hunt’s outreach programs.

The weekend's live music lineup includes Jimkata at Madison Live tonight along with The Missy Werner Band at Molly Malone’s Irish Pub & Restaurant and Sonny Moorman at Smoke Justis. On Friday night: Handguns at The Rooftop at Madison Theater; Hardcore with Jason at Madison Live; Love Unplugged at Smoke Justis; Zoe & The Porktown Hustlers at Juniper’s; Scotty Bratcher Band with The Mudpies at The Village Theater; Second Saturday Music: Chris Comer Trio at The Metropolitan Club. On Saturday: Grady Burton performs at Smoke Justis while Queen City Krewe plays Juniper’s.

Additional events include Thirsty Thursday Bingo tonight at Frosthaus followed by Feud on Friday night alongside karaoke sessions. Saturday offers the Covington Farmers Market located in the parking lot of 425 Madison Avenue along with MainStrasse Village Food Culture Tour Library Card Sign-Up Day hosted by Kenton County Public Library Wisconsin Watch Party held Sunday afternoon culminates festivities Biggest Bengals Tailgate Town organized within Goebel Park part ongoing Covington Oktoberfest celebrations
