Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky's 4th district, recently shared his opinions on various issues through a series of tweets on April 15 and 16, 2025. These tweets address topics ranging from COVID-19 vaccines to the Real ID Act and Second Amendment rights.
On April 15, 2025, Massie raised concerns about the potential side effects of mRNA vaccines, stating, "The serious possible side effects of these mRNA shots are still being criminally concealed from the public by manufacturers and government. Revoke the unconstitutional immunity from liability for those making profits and this fixes itself." This tweet suggests his belief that manufacturers and the government are not fully transparent about the risks associated with these vaccines.
Later that day, Massie referenced former Representative Ron Paul in regards to criticisms of national identity legislation. Citing Paul's prescience, Massie tweeted, "Ron Paul on Real ID just before it passed the House decades ago along with the Patriot Act. Ron Paul was right." This reflects Massie's continued skepticism of government ID initiatives and surveillance measures.
On April 16, 2025, Massie expressed gratitude towards fellow Representative Lance Gooden for supporting a national gun law. He stated, "Thank you to Rep. Lance Gooden for cosponsoring HR 645, the National Constitutional Carry Act. No one should have to beg the government to exercise a constitutionally protected right anywhere in the country."
Thomas Massie, born in Huntington, West Virginia, in 1971, is currently serving his term after replacing Geoff Davis in 2012. He is a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), class of 1993, and resides in Garrison, Kentucky.
