Covington City Hall closes for MLK Day; discussion breakfast planned

Offices at Covington City Hall will be closed on Monday in observance of the federal holiday commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birth anniversary. Normal operations will resume at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

In addition, a free event to honor King's legacy is scheduled for Saturday morning in Covington. The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Discussion Breakfast will commence at 9:30 a.m. at Church of Our Savior Parish Hall, located at 246 E. 10th St.

The breakfast event will include a program featuring remarks by Father John Judie titled “Racism Yesterday and Today.” Father Judie is a retired priest from the Archdiocese of Louisville who has recently been involved in mission work in Tanzania.

This program is open to all members of the public.
