Washington, D.C. - Congressman Thomas Massie has reintroduced the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2025, also known as H.R. 24 or "Audit the Fed." This bill mandates a comprehensive examination by the Comptroller General of both the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Reserve Banks.

Rep. Massie stated, "The American public deserves more insight into the practices of the Federal Reserve. Behind closed doors, the Fed crafts monetary policies that devalue our currency, slow economic growth, and make life harder for the poor and middle class. The American people benefit when we work to increase government transparency."

The initiative to audit the Federal Reserve has been previously championed by former Representative Ron Paul (R-TX), who first introduced similar legislation in 2009.

The bill's original cosponsors include several representatives: Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Michael Bost (R-IL), Josh Brecheen (R-OK), Tim Burchett (R-TN), Eric Burlison (R-MO), Kat Cammack (R-FL), Ben Cline (R-VA), Michael Cloud (R-TX), Mike Collins (R-GA), Eli Crane (R-AZ), Rick Crawford (R-AR), Warren Davidson (R-OH), Ron Estes (R-KS), Brad Finstad (R-MN), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Morgan Griffith (R-VA), Harriet Hageman (R-WY), Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Nancy Mace(R-SC ), Tom McClintock(R-CA ), Rick McCormick(R-GA ), Mary Miller(R-IL ), John Moolenaar(R-MI ), Barry Moore(R-AL ), Ralph Norman(R-SC ), Andy Ogles(R-TN ), Gary Palmer(R-AL ), Scott Perry(R-PA ), Chip Roy(R-TX ), John Rutherford(R-FL ), Victoria Spartz(R-IN ), Greg Steube(R-FL ), Claudia Tenney( R-NY) , Randy Weber( R-TX) , and Daniel Webster( R-FL).
