Covington prepares for Halloween with festivals, tours, role play and bar crawl

Residents of Covington, Kentucky, have a variety of Halloween-themed events to choose from this weekend. Among the highlights is the Pumpkin Carving Night hosted by Covington Parks & Rec at David Housley Pavilion in Randolph Park. Participants will be provided with pumpkins and carving tools at no cost. The creations will be showcased at the Jack-O’-Lantern Festival on Saturday, which also features a costume contest, free food, games, and more.

For those interested in local lore, the Spooky Secrets Tour offers a guided walk inspired by Kathryn Witt's book "Secret Cincinnati: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful and Obscure." Jill Morenz from Aviatra Accelerators leads this tour that benefits women entrepreneurs.

Role-playing enthusiasts can participate in Live Action Role Play – The West at Juniper’s tonight. Players assume characters in an old West setting as they bid for treasures arriving from the East Coast.

Purple Paisley hosts a unique "Spooky Sip & Stitch - Embroidery" event with Elizabeth Watkins on Saturday. Attendees can engage in embroidery while enjoying themed drinks.

The Braxton Halloween Party & Costume Contest invites guests to showcase their costumes on Braxton Brewing’s LED Dance Floor with prizes for best costumes across various categories.

Music lovers can enjoy performances throughout the weekend at venues like Madison Live and Smoke Justis. Additionally, Queen City Cabaret collaborates with The Carnegie for "I Put A Spell On You: A Creepy Cabaret," featuring performances by drag artist The Lady Phaedra and Victoria Okafor of Cincinnati Opera.

Finally, MainStrasse Village hosts a Halloween Bar Crawl on Saturday with 20 participating venues offering drink specials and live entertainment.
