Covington hosts art fair book fair music fest this weekend

COVINGTON, Ky. – This weekend, Covington will host a variety of events celebrating art, books, and music.

Artmarkit, a new creative reuse hub in The Cov, aims to provide space, materials, and inspiration for artistic endeavors. It offers "pay-what-you-can" art supplies, mentorship programs, accessible lessons and workshops, community events, curated art kits, and open studio space. On Friday and Saturday, Artmarkit will hold a Community Donation Drop Weekend to introduce the public to its offerings.

Braxton Brewing Company is partnering with The Holding Hands Foundation on Friday for the Joseph Ossai Autograph Signing & Back-to-School Drive. Bengals linebacker Joseph Ossai will sign autographs in exchange for school supply donations such as pencils and pens, binders, colored pencils, backpacks, and deodorants.

The 13th Annual NKY Music Festival will take place at Devou Park Bandshell on Saturday. The event begins at noon with performances by Mill Creek Drifters followed by Dangerous Jim and The Slims among others. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Saturday's freshART event at Devou Park features original en plein air artwork created by local artists. Proceeds from the 32nd annual freshART Event support Behringer-Crawford Museum’s youth education programs.

The Cincinnati Art Book Fair at The Carnegie on Saturday and Sunday promises a diverse range of print-based projects and artist edition books from over 50 artists, collectors, and vendors. The event is free to the public.

Additional live music performances are scheduled throughout the weekend at various venues including Molly Malone’s Irish Pub & Restaurant tonight featuring The Missy Werner Band; Madison Live hosting Static Spirit on Friday; Kayko performing at Madison Live on Saturday; among others.

Other miscellaneous events include Cigar Night with Cincy Smokin! at Smoke Justis tonight; Thirsty Thursday Bingo at Frosthaus; Wine Tasting at Crafts & Vines; Feud at Frosthaus on Friday; Karaoke also at Frosthaus; Covington Farmers Market on Saturday morning; MainStrasse Village Food and Culture Tour; Meet & Greet with Norb Steuber: A Celebration of Natural Light Photography at Purple Paisley Local Artisan Shop; Scarlet Begonia’s Flower Truck Pop-Up at Braxton Brewing Company; New Moon Witches Market at George Steinford Park/Sixth St. Promenade on Saturday evening; concluding with Sunday Fun-Dey at Braxton Brewing Company.
