Covington hosts diverse events for July's final weekend

COVINGTON, Ky. – As July draws to a close, Covington offers a variety of activities for the final weekend of the month. Residents and visitors can enjoy events ranging from stargazing and art exhibitions to local markets and live music.

Tonight’s Summer Market at Juniper’s will feature ten local vendors offering an array of goods, including jewelry, plants, caramels, hot sauce, baked goods, and art. Attendees can enjoy a drink while shopping for unique items.

Crafts & Vines will host a farewell event for Philip, also known as “Big Boy,” on Friday. Regular patrons may recognize Philip as the well-mannered canine often seen at the establishment. The event invites guests to bring their own pets to bid farewell as Philip moves to the suburbs.

Benjamin Cook, a Cincinnati-based artist and educator, will present his work at Pique gallery on Friday. His exhibition explores the movement of images through manual and algorithmic methods of translation.

On Saturday, Frosthaus will transform into Margaritaville for its Parrot Party at Frosthaus. The event promises live music and giveaways in a celebration inspired by Jimmy Buffet.

Procter & Gamble’s Big Band will perform at Devou Park Bandshell on Saturday as part of Covington Parks and Rec’s Concert in the Park series. The 20-member ensemble consists of P&G employees and retirees who have been performing since 1987.

Sunday's Brunch at Gypsy’s with Origin Trade Goods and Moonbeam will feature rosemary gruyére biscuits with andouille sausage and a Bloody Mary flight. Both businesses are based in Covington.

Covington Parks and Rec will host Astronomy Night at Austinburg Park on Sunday. Participants can use telescopes to view stars and planets, including the Delta Aquariids Meteor Shower.

Live music performances this weekend include Moonshine Drive at Behringer-Crawford Museum tonight, Dave Matthews Tribute Band at Madison Theater on Friday, Mayhem on Madison at Madison Theater on Saturday, and Billy Brown at Zazou Grill & Pub on Sunday.

Additional events include wine tasting at Crafts & Vines tonight, Graeter’s Monthly Donut Pop-Up at Braxton Brewing Co. on Friday, Covington Farmers Market on Saturday morning, and Salsa Sunday in the Taproom at Braxton Brewing Co. on Sunday.
