Northern Kentucky volleyball met with a familiar foe Tuesday evening, as the Norse made the trip north to Dayton to take on Wright State in a matchup of top Horizon League programs. The Raiders went on to take the match at 3-2 overall in what looked to be a potential preview of the 2022 Horizon League championship match.

NKU (13-12, 11-3 Horizon) jumped right back into what this rivalry is with the Raiders of Wright State (22-3, 14-0 Horizon), as the opening set featured a tightly contest battle which saw WSU ultimately win it 25-23. The Norse came out swinging in set number two as a 13-4 run saw NKU up big early. Northern Kentucky saw massive contributions from Sequoia Hunt, Anna Brinkmann, Skyy Smith, Reilly Briggs and Joy Banks, all who totaled kills during this scoring run. NKU went on to claim set two 25-17 overall to even up the match. The Norse continued to ride that momentum in set three with a 25-18 win, which featured Northern Kentucky hitting .368 overall and totaling three blocks within the set. The Raiders were not going away quietly however, as WSU fought their way to set four win at 25-21, and ultimately went on to take the fifth and final set at 15-9 over the Norse.
