In the first quarter of 2026, Woodcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was under the ownership of Benjamin Landa, Alexander Platschek, and Goldie Platschek, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data show. This Kenton County facility has been managed by these owners since Oct. 1, 2018.

Woodcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center operates as a for-profit entity.

That quarter, the facility received an overall CMS rating of 4, higher than the Kentucky state average of 3.0 for nursing homes. The CMS rating system measures performance in areas such as health inspections, staffing, and quality of resident care.

Data indicates that during this time, Woodcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center served an average of 113.7 residents daily, with capacity for 127 beds. The facility is currently not affiliated with a hospital.

As reported for the first quarter of 2026, Woodcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center had no fines or penalties.

Altogether, Kenton County had four for-profit nursing home facilities.

U.S. Census Bureau projections continue to highlight a growing senior population across the nation alongside decreases in younger demographics. Between 2020 and 2024, the total of Americans age 65 and older rose by 13%, while those under 18 dropped by 1.7%. Over the past century, the number of older adults in the U.S. climbed sharply, expanding from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 analysis estimates nearly half of Americans in this age group—about 28 million—might need long-term services and supports, and more than one-third could require nursing home care at some stage.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
