Thomas Massie, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, has recently shared his views on various political and economic issues through a series of tweets. Born in Huntington, West Virginia, in 1971, Massie is known for his outspoken stance on fiscal policies and foreign interventions.
On June 21, 2025, Massie expressed concerns over the current financial strategies of Congress. He stated that “Congress is spending, printing, and borrowing so much that the Fed has lost its ability to ‘set rates.’” According to him, this situation has led banks and foreign governments to demand more than a 4.5% return on U.S. treasuries. He also mentioned that the Build Back Better (BBB) initiative exacerbates these issues and suggested it would be an opportune moment to “#EndTheFed.”
Later that day, Massie tweeted about his opposition to potential military interventions by the United States. He urged followers to listen to a discussion he found significant and declared “I will not vote for the United States to get dragged into another regime change war.” Furthermore, he emphasized his commitment by stating he would actively oppose such actions.
In another tweet posted on June 21st, Massie addressed the influence of lobbying groups like AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee). He advised starting at a specific timestamp in an interview for insights into AIPAC’s activities: “Start at 14:53 in this interview if you want to know about AIPAC.” Massie claimed that AIPAC spends millions influencing colleagues towards supporting U.S. involvement in conflicts such as Israel’s war against Iran. He noted that AIPAC had spent $400k against him during the last election cycle and stated they are banned from his office.
Thomas Massie’s educational background includes graduating from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993.
