Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, recently took to social media to address several topics concerning national discourse and legislative action. Massie has been serving in Congress following his tenure in the Kentucky House of Representatives and as the Lewis County Judge Executive. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971, Massie graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree.

On June 12, 2025, Massie questioned recent rhetoric surrounding immigration. He posted on Twitter: “Wait, didn’t the paid influencer mob insist a few days ago that we should refer to all illegal immigrants as criminals?” This tweet indicates his engagement with ongoing debates about language and policy concerning immigration.

Shortly thereafter, Massie commented on a statement made by the President. In another post on June 12, he remarked: “The President’s statement must be very embarrassing for you today:” suggesting potential disapproval or disagreement with the administration’s messaging.

Later that day, Massie shared his legislative actions regarding budgetary issues. He announced via Twitter: “Just voted for the 2025 rescissions act. These are the first DOGE cuts. $9 billion won’t solve all our budget problems but it’s an incredible start. Let’s cut more. Thank you DOGE!” His statement highlights efforts to address fiscal concerns through legislative measures aimed at reducing government spending.
