Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, has recently expressed his views on international conflict and legislative actions through social media. His posts on June 22, 2025, address concerns about military engagement and the need for Congressional debate.

In a post from June 22, Massie commented on the implications of international military involvement: “When two countries are bombing each other daily in a hot war, and a third country joins the bombing, that’s an act of war.” He criticized what he described as “mental gymnastics” by some policymakers to downplay such engagements as acts of war.

Later that day, Massie highlighted his legislative efforts with another tweet: “I introduced a War Powers Resolution on Tuesday, while Congress was on vacation. We would have had plenty of time to debate and vote on this.” This resolution appears to be part of his ongoing efforts to ensure proper legislative oversight over military actions.

Finally, Massie invited followers to tune into a CBS studio appearance in Washington D.C.: “Tune in at 10:30am. I’m at the CBS studio in DC.”

Thomas Massie’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which he earned in 1993. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971, Massie currently resides in Garrison.
