Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, recently shared his perspectives on several political matters through social media posts. Known for his independent views and commitment to constitutional principles, Massie addressed topics ranging from legislative improvements to national defense.

On June 16, 2025, Thomas Massie referenced an interview with Rob Schmitt on NEWSMAX, where he discussed potential enhancements to a significant legislative proposal. Massie emphasized the necessity of removing what he termed the “SALT gift” to sanctuary cities in order for the bill to secure his support.

Later that day, Massie posted another tweet asserting the importance of factual accuracy in political discourse. He succinctly stated “Facts matter. Warren is 1st.”

In a subsequent post on June 16, Massie expressed his stance on foreign military engagements by announcing his intention to introduce a bipartisan War Powers Resolution. He declared “This is not our war.” and highlighted the constitutional requirement for Congress to make decisions regarding military involvement. He invited fellow members of Congress to co-sponsor this resolution.

Thomas Massie’s background includes a degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and prior service in the Kentucky House of Representatives as well as Lewis County Judge Executive.
