Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, posted a series of statements on October 22, 2025, addressing federal funding for solar radiation modification and policy changes regarding beef imports and labeling.

In a post published at 14:15 UTC, Massie wrote, “I support this letter to President Trump. Terminate all federal funding and operational support associated with Solar Radiation Modification (SRM) activities conducted by the Dept of War, DARPA, NOAA, and other federal agencies!”

Later that day, at 16:42 UTC, Massie discussed beef import policy in another statement: “Last night, @SchmittNYC & I discussed the President’s proposal to purchase more beef from Argentina. The America First solution to rising beef prices is my bill, the PRIME Act. It would empower farmers to sell directly to consumers without corporate middlemen.”

At 20:26 UTC on the same day, Massie announced plans for new legislation on food labeling: “Imagine that, Americans want to know where their food comes from. I’ll be sponsoring legislation soon to reinstate country of origin labeling for beef and pork! This is especially important if our supermarkets are going to be flooded with beef from Argentina.”

Massie has represented Kentucky’s 4th District in Congress since replacing Geoff Davis in 2012. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Kentucky House of Representatives and as Lewis County Judge Executive. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971, Massie currently resides in Garrison and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
