Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, recently shared updates and commentary on social media regarding local businesses, government operations, and congressional procedures.
On October 2, 2025, Massie visited a historic business in his district and posted: “I stopped by the Mays Lick location of Hinton Mills (est 1918) and caught up with Bud Hinton. He literally helped build the foundation of this building in 1968… he held the tape measure! Charlie Boyd and sons were in the store. They’re world renowned breeders of Angus cattle.”
Two days later, on October 3, 2025, Massie commented on federal operations during a government shutdown with a post stating: “Best thing about government shutdowns… no chemtrails.”
On October 5, 2025, he addressed legislative activities during the ongoing shutdown: “The government is shutdown, but the House refuses to go back in session. Why are we in recess? Because the day we go back into session, I have 218 votes for the discharge petition to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files. @SpeakerJohnson doesn’t want that to be the news.”
Massie has represented Kentucky’s 4th District since replacing Geoff Davis in Congress in 2012. Before his tenure in Congress, he served as Lewis County Judge Executive and was previously a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971 and currently residing in Garrison, Massie graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993.
