Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, recently shared several statements on his social media account, addressing topics ranging from free speech to congressional responsibilities.
On August 25, 2025, Massie posted a link to an interview he conducted with comedian Theo Von. He wrote: “Here’s my full interview with @TheoVon, in case you missed it! So far it has 1.3 million views.”
Later that day, Massie commented on the legal protections surrounding flag burning under the U.S. Constitution. In his post dated August 25, 2025, he stated: “Flag burning, whether it’s or , is covered by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Neither Congress nor the President nor a Judge can make it illegal.”
The following morning on August 26, Massie made another brief statement regarding congressional duties: “Congressmen swear an oath to:”
Massie has served as Kentucky’s representative in Congress since replacing Geoff Davis in 2012 and previously held roles in state government and local administration. He was born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971 and currently resides in Garrison. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which he earned in 1993.
