Thomas Massie, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, addressed issues of public perception and transparency in a series of posts on his social media account in early September 2025.
On September 6, Massie commented on the impact of labeling certain events as hoaxes, stating: “The people know this is not a hoax (see poll), and as the survivors said this week, calling this a hoax dehumanizes the victims.” He emphasized the importance of respecting survivors’ experiences and warned against rhetoric that could minimize their suffering.
Later that day, Massie encouraged his followers to engage with recent media by posting: “Check out this movie and let me know what you think!” on September 6.
On September 7, Massie announced an upcoming appearance on national television alongside Representative Ro Khanna to discuss bipartisan efforts for government transparency. He wrote: “I’m appearing on @ThisWeekABC this morning with @RepRoKhanna to talk about our bipartisan legislation to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files. Tune in! Victims deserve justice, and Americans deserve transparency.”
Massie’s advocacy for transparency aligns with his legislative history. He has represented Kentucky’s 4th District in Congress since succeeding Geoff Davis in 2012. Before serving in Congress, he was active in local politics as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives and as Lewis County Judge Executive. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971, Massie graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993 and currently resides in Garrison.
