U.S. Congressman Thomas Massie, who represents Kentucky’s 4th district, recently posted a series of tweets reflecting on local engagement, gun policy advocacy, and renewable energy practices.
On August 28, 2025, Massie shared his experience attending a community event in his home county. He wrote: “Last night, I had dinner with and spoke to more than 100 constituents at a Lewis County Chamber of Commerce event. As a native of Lewis County, and the former County Judge/Executive, it was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces, including current Judge/Executive George” (August 28, 2025).
Later that evening, Massie addressed the issue of gun violence in schools and public places. He stated: “Listen to the deranged shooters; they’re telling us how they pick victims. End so called gun free zones to stop them. OpEd by Dr. John Lott and I about the obvious solution to mass public shootings appears in the newest edition of the Wall Street Journal:” (August 28, 2025).
The following day, Massie commented on renewable energy sources based on personal experience at his residence. He tweeted: “I’ve been generating my own electricity almost exclusively from (the same) solar panels for 20 years at my house. Per acre, solar panels make an order of magnitude (10x +) more energy than any biofuel scheme, but we should be putting them on marginal ground, not prime farmland.” (August 29, 2025).
Thomas Massie has served as Kentucky’s 4th district representative in Congress since succeeding Geoff Davis in 2012 and previously held positions including Lewis County Judge Executive and membership in the Kentucky House of Representatives. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971 and currently residing in Garrison, Massie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology earned in 1993.
