Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, addressed issues ranging from national debt to legislative transparency and ongoing investigations in a series of tweets posted on December 6, 2025.
In his first post, Massie criticized the celebration of interest payments on the national debt, stating on December 6: “Bragging that we’re paying banks, foreign countries, and other institutions a record amount of interest to service our national debt is not the flex you think it is.”
Later that day, Massie expressed gratitude toward fellow lawmakers for their support of legislation related to government transparency. On December 6 he wrote: “Thank you again to @RepMTG, @RepNancyMace, and @RepBoebert for having the guts to sign the Discharge Petition to force a vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act. How do we know it was the right thing? It passed 427 to 1 in House, 100 to 0 in Senate, and POTUS signed it.”
That evening he commented on developments in an ongoing investigation: “A critical review of the new arrest in the five year old J6 pipe bomb case.”
Massie has represented Kentucky’s 4th District in Congress since replacing Geoff Davis in 2012. He previously served as Lewis County Judge Executive and was born in Huntington, West Virginia. Massie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), earned in 1993.
