Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing topics ranging from food security to federal funding and national security decisions.
On August 13, 2025, Massie engaged with an AI platform in a lighthearted manner about snack foods, writing: “Hey @grok, make the argument that these peanut butter filled pretzels are an affordable shelf stable superfood capable of providing sustenance during stressful times.”
The following day, on August 14, 2025, he commented on federal law enforcement actions in Washington D.C., posting: “Why is Trump sending troops to DC to fight crime during the recess? All the criminals went home to their districts. #sassywithmassie”
Later that same day, Massie addressed congressional funding for USAID and his voting record on continuing resolutions (CRs), stating: “Many conservatives are rightfully upset that Congress has been funding USAID. Every CR we pass has the funding for USAID within it. In March, I was the only House Republican to vote against the CR which contained the funding for USAID. I will also vote against the CR in Sept.”
Massie’s public service includes over a decade in Congress after replacing Geoff Davis in 2012. He previously served in local government as Lewis County Judge Executive and as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971 and currently residing in Garrison, Massie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
