Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, posted a series of statements on social media addressing economic issues and ongoing legislative efforts related to the release of files connected to Jeffrey Epstein.
On September 1, 2025, Massie commented on Labor Day with a critique of federal monetary policy: “As we celebrate Labor Day, consider your wages are given in US dollars, money is a store of labor, and the U.S. government has been robbing you of it since 1913.”
Later that day, he announced an upcoming press conference involving victims of sex trafficking linked to Jeffrey Epstein. In his post from September 1, Massie stated: “Our press conference with 10 victims of Epstein‘s sex trafficking is at 10:30 AM on September 3. I pray @SpeakerJohnson will listen to the pleas of these victims for justice and quit trying to block a vote on our legislation to release the Epstein files.”
Continuing his focus on legislative action, Massie provided an update on September 2 regarding procedural steps in Congress: “I am in DC and I will file the discharge petition today, Sept 2nd, at approximately 2pm when Congress officially returns from the August recess. At that point we can begin collecting the 218 signatures necessary to force a vote on binding legislation to release the Epstein files.”
Massie’s remarks reflect his ongoing advocacy for transparency concerning the Epstein case and criticism of government financial policies. He has served as Kentucky’s representative in Congress since replacing Geoff Davis in 2012 and previously held positions in state government. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971 and currently residing in Garrison, Massie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which he earned in 1993.
