Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, recently shared updates on social media addressing military losses, local cultural initiatives, and legislative efforts regarding raw milk distribution.
On March 9, 2026, Massie expressed condolences for the loss of a Kentucky service member in the ongoing conflict with Iran. He stated: “I’m saddened to hear that the seventh U.S. military casualty was a brave Kentuckian. My prayers are with all the families of the American service members who have died in the war with Iran, and I am praying for a full recovery of those who have been seriously injured.” (March 9, 2026).
Later that day, Massie highlighted his meeting with representatives from the Kentucky Humanities Council. He wrote: “Last week, I met with Senior Advisor Bill Goodman and Interim Executive Director Kay Madrick of the Kentucky Humanities Council. The Humanities Council collaborates with rural communities to create exhibits and programs that highlight and preserve unique local histories.” (March 9, 2026).
On March 10, 2026, Massie announced new legislative activity related to food regulation. He posted: “I just reintroduced the Interstate Milk Freedom Act, HR 7880 with @chelliepingree. The bill prevents the federal government from interfering with the interstate traffic of raw milk products between states where distribution or sale of such products is already legal.” (March 10, 2026).
Massie has served as a congressman since replacing Geoff Davis in 2012 and previously held roles in state government including as Lewis County Judge Executive. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971 and currently residing in Garrison at age 52, Massie graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1993.
