Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, posted a series of messages on his social media account on September 11 and 12, 2025, addressing topics ranging from memorials to legislative initiatives.
On September 11, Massie highlighted a local tribute to the victims of the September 11 attacks: “A few years ago, the Crescent Springs Fire Dept. acquired a piece of steel beam from the World Trade Center following the attacks of September 11, 2001. This beam forms the centerpiece of the 9/11 memorial, constructed of granite and in the shape of the Pentagon. #NeverForget https://t.co/MZjGbdtQeY” (posted at 18:47 UTC).
Later that day, Massie announced new legislation aimed at restricting federal funding related to abortion policies abroad: “I just introduced HR 5302, the No Funds for Foreign Abortions Act. The bill prevents federal funds from going to foreign governments that subsidize or promote abortions.
Foreign countries that spend money to kill unborn children should not receive our tax dollars. https://t.co/LHuWUOdEfR” (posted at 19:30 UTC).
On September 12, Massie commented on transparency and accountability in Washington D.C.: “Hopefully, there are enough honest people in DC who can overcome the pressure from those who would conceal the truth. If so, we may be able to gain the insight required to unravel the tangled web of deception & learn what our elites have been doing to us”https://t.co/wpX1qsIy4n (posted at 13:43 UTC).
Massie has served as a member of Congress since replacing Geoff Davis in Kentucky’s 4th district in 2012 and previously held positions in state government including service as Lewis County Judge Executive. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971 and currently residing in Garrison, Massie is also an alumnus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree earned in 1993.
