Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing federal fiscal policy and oversight of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

On September 16, 2025, Massie referenced Senator Rand Paul’s budget proposal in a post stating, “Let’s do Rand’s penny plan before it has to be the quarter plan!” This comment refers to ongoing discussions about federal spending reductions.

The following day, September 17, Massie highlighted his participation in a congressional hearing by posting, “Happening Now: Our House Judiciary Committee hearing ‘Oversight of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’ with Director Kash Patel.”

Later that same day, Massie addressed the FBI’s actions regarding journalist James O’Keefe. He wrote, “Biden’s FBI raided @JamesOKeefeIII’s home, but the search warrant they used is still almost completely redacted. O’Keefe deserves to know why he was raided. I introduced the search warrant into the record during today’s @JudiciaryGOP hearing and asked that it be unredacted.”

Massie has represented Kentucky’s 4th District in Congress since replacing Geoff Davis in 2012. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Kentucky House of Representatives and as Lewis County Judge Executive. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971 and currently residing in Garrison, Massie graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993.
