Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, posted a series of messages on social media addressing topics ranging from local weather to congressional procedures and national defense.
On September 7, 2025, Massie shared a personal note about his morning in Kentucky: “Have a blessed Sunday. It was a foggy but beautiful morning here in Northeast Kentucky.”
Later that day, he raised questions about the Department of Defense and constitutional processes for declaring war. In his post dated September 8, 2025, Massie wrote: “If it is called the Department of War, can we finally acknowledge it commits Acts of War,
which require Congressional Declarations according to our Constitution?”
In another message on September 8, Massie referenced legislative efforts regarding transparency related to Jeffrey Epstein. He stated: “During our appearance on ABC this morning, my colleague @RepRoKhanna announced we will have the 218 votes needed for the Epstein discharge petition by the end of this month. When this vote happens, will your congressman vote for transparency and justice… or against?”
Massie has served as a member of Congress since replacing Geoff Davis in 2012 and previously held positions in the Kentucky House of Representatives and as Lewis County Judge Executive. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971 and currently residing in Garrison, Massie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
