Thomas Massie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 4th district since 2012, posted a series of tweets in early August 2025 addressing both local and national political developments.
On August 5, Massie wrote about his meeting with local officials: “Today, I had the privilege of meeting with several Northern Kentucky city and county managers at the Boone Links Golf & Event Center in Florence. It was great to speak with local officials who represent the same communities I do. I addressed a number of topics, including local https://t.co/5ypRugEYGH”.
The following day, on August 6, he posted a tweet containing only a link: “https://t.co/fUhziJBOsE”.
Later that day, Massie raised concerns about congressional procedures during the recess period: ” The Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader are convening pro-forma sessions of Congress in empty chambers during the August recess solely to block President Trump from making recess appointments. Why isn’t the media covering this? https://t.co/Wu4FBtW0yr”.
Massie has represented Kentucky’s 4th District in Congress since replacing Geoff Davis in 2012. Prior to his current role, he served in the Kentucky House of Representatives and as Lewis County Judge Executive. Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1971, Massie is now 52 years old and resides in Garrison. He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993.
