The Seasons at Alexandria became the third largest nursing home in Campbell County during the first quarter of 2026, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) data shows.

Records indicate the center provided 117 beds, exceeding the county average for the period by 14. On average, it cared for 97.6 residents daily during Q1 2026.

The CMS rated The Seasons at Alexandria at 1 out of 5 overall, which is below Kentucky’s reported statewide nursing home average rating of 3.

Throughout the same quarter, Coldspring Transitional Care Center had the largest capacity in Campbell County with 143 beds, followed by Highlandspring of FT Thomas, which maintained 140 beds.

By the end of the opening quarter in 2026, The Seasons at Alexandria had accrued two penalties and paid $256,884 in fines.

Campbell County, Kentucky was home to 3 non-profit nursing homes during this time frame.

Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show the older population in the United States continues to rise while the number of younger residents falls. Between 2020 and 2024, people 65 and older increased by 13%, as those under age 18 declined by 1.7%. Over the last century, the older adult population expanded significantly, from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.

A study in 2021 estimated that nearly 28 million older Americans—about half of that age group—may need long-term services and support, with more than a third likely to require nursing home care in the future.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an educational group for the insurance sector. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
