Congressmen Brett Guthrie and Gus Bilirakis have announced a subcommittee hearing titled “Daylight and Destinations: Examining Time, Travel, and Tourism.” The hearing will be held by the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade on November 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM ET in the Rayburn House Office Building. It will be open to the public and press, with a livestream available online at energycommerce.house.gov.

Guthrie and Bilirakis emphasized the importance of travel and tourism as key drivers of both local and national economies. They said that it is essential for Congress to explore ways to strengthen these sectors. The hearing will also address various perspectives on Daylight Saving Time, a practice affecting nearly every American. “This hearing will provide an important opportunity to assess its real-world impacts and determine the best path forward,” they said.

Lisa Simon, CEO & Executive Director of the International Inbound Travel Association (IITA), is scheduled to testify at the hearing.
