Melissa Jane Turner, 64, of Independence, peacefully passed away at home with her family by her side on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Melissa was born on April 12, 1960, in Covington, the daughter of the late Dr. Nelson E. Boyd, Sr., and Emma Margaret Buser Boyd. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Turner; daughters Tonya Scott and Tiffany Turner; brothers Archie and Nelson E. Boyd Jr; sister Mary Styles; and grandchildren Logan, Landen, Layla, Lana, and Emma. Melissa was predeceased by her sisters, Julia Boyd and Mary Styles.

Funeral services for Melissa will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Friday, April 11, 2025, with visitation from 11 AM to 1 PM and the service at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Independence Cemetery. Floral Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Turner family during this time of loss.
