Florence—Mary Jean Gohman, 95, formerly of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025. Born in Covington, Kentucky, on May 19, 1929, Mary Jean dedicated her life to service, both as a salesperson with Electrolux and as a devoted member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Florence. She made history in her community as one of the original physical education teachers at St. Paul Elementary School, instilling the value of health and movement in her students. In the early '80s, she embarked on a career selling vacuum cleaners, known for her warmth and her ability to connect with others. An avid sports enthusiast, Mary Jean was a passionate fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and University of Kentucky basketball. She cherished her travel adventures with her husband and brothers, creating lasting memories. Mary Jean is survived by her sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul Church on February 14, 2025, with visitation at Stith Funeral Home prior to the service. Mary Jean will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Mausoleum in Erlanger, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a hospice organization are welcomed.
