The Reverend James E. Bernard | Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel
Jim graduated from Maryville College and excelled at Louisville Theological Seminary. He dedicated his life to serving the Presbyterian Church, bringing joy to congregations in Ludlow, Kentucky, and Amelia, Ohio. Jim was actively involved in the Cincinnati Presbytery, serving on various boards and committees. Even after retirement in 2007, he continued part-time ministry at the Dry Ridge, Kentucky congregation, cherishing the friendships he formed in these communities.
Passionate about his faith, family, and varied interests, Jim supported the Cincinnati Reds, was a devoted Neil Diamond fan, and enjoyed collecting gadgets. His love for the outdoors was evident through deer hunting, Harley rides, and travel. Jim embraced life with enthusiasm.
Preceding him in death are his parents, William and Florence Bernard, and brothers, Bob and Barry Bernard. James is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pamela S. Bernard (nee Letsinger); son, Stephen J. (Heather) Bernard; daughter, Sandra J. (John) Winkle; grandchildren, Andrew W. Bernard, John Z. Winkle, and Tyler J. Winkle; sister, Beverly (Paul) Kern; and brothers, Jack, Dennis (Maria), Allyn (Linda), and Rick (Maria) Bernard, along with other family and friends.
