The City of Covington has announced that trick-or-treating will occur from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 31. Residents are encouraged to prepare for the event by organizing costumes, buying candy, and ensuring walkways are clear of obstacles.
City officials emphasize safety during this time and offer several guidelines to protect children. They advise caution when crossing streets and recommend that adults accompany young children while older children should stay in groups. Trick-or-treaters should visit only homes with exterior lights on, and costumes should be decorated with reflective tape or stickers for visibility.
Officials also suggest using face paint instead of masks that might block vision and having children carry glow sticks or flashlights. Costumes should not cause tripping hazards, and drivers are urged to slow down and remain vigilant.
In addition to Halloween preparations, Covington Parks & Recreation is hosting events at Randolph Park's David Housley Pavilion. The second night of Pumpkin Carving Nights will take place tonight from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with pumpkins and tools provided for participants.
On Saturday, the annual Jack-O-Lantern Festival will be held at the same location from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering a variety of activities for attendees.
