The City of Florence has announced the launch of “The Good Neighbor Program,” coordinated by the City of Florence Human Services Administrator, Katie James. This program aims to connect residents in need of assistance with outdoor tasks such as mowing, shoveling, and raking with dedicated volunteers.

The program is designed to support elderly, disabled, or physically unable individuals, helping them maintain their homes with dignity. By fostering volunteerism, the program will strengthen community ties and ensure an organized and efficient matching process between volunteers and residents based on needs, location, and availability.

Residents can sign up for assistance by providing their contact information and specific needs, while volunteers can specify their availability and preferred tasks. The program not only provides essential services but also builds a more supportive and connected community. Community groups and individuals alike are encouraged to participate.
