The City of Florence will launch its 2024 Photo Contest next week, open to all individuals regardless of residency. The sole requirement is that the submitted photo must be taken within the city limits.

Participants are encouraged to explore Florence's neighborhoods, parks, and attractions to capture images that reflect the city's essence. The contest categories include Landscapes, People, and Landmarks.

Submission guidelines specify that photos should be digital, in color, and in JPEG or PNG format with high resolution. Entries can be emailed to photocontest@florence-ky.gov from June 3 to June 10, 2024. Each participant can submit up to three photos and must include their name, address, phone number, email address, photo title, category, and location of the photo in their submission.

Once submitted, photographs become the property of the City of Florence. While efforts will be made to maintain the original layout of the photos, they may be cropped if necessary. Submitted photos may also be used on the city's website, social media channels, and promotional materials.

For photos featuring identifiable individuals in close-ups taken outside public property or city events, a signed photo release form is required.

In each category—Landscapes, People, and Landmarks—First through Third Place winners will be selected. Each photographer can win only once. Winners will be acknowledged on the City of Florence's website and social media platforms and featured at the Art & Vendor Festival on July 20, 2024. Notifications and public announcements for winners will occur on June 24, 2024.

For more information about the contest rules or any inquiries related to participation details can contact Melissa Kramer at (859)647-8177 or melissa.kramer@florence-ky.gov.
