Covington Mayor Joe Meyer will be taking the city's message to a national stage as he heads to the White House to meet with Biden Administration officials. Meyer, along with several other leaders, has been invited to discuss how federal investment in Covington's infrastructure will benefit the community.

The meeting will include notable figures such as U.S. Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg, senior adviser and ARPA coordinator Gene Sperling, and Samantha Silverberg, deputy infrastructure implementation coordinator. Meyer will specifically highlight the impact of federal funding on projects like the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor and the Riverfront Commons trail in Campbell and Kenton counties.

In preparation for the meeting, Meyer emphasized the importance of federal support in Covington's development efforts, stating, "Federal financial support has been a critical underpinning of our success, and President Biden himself came to Covington’s riverfront just last year, so he’s obviously aware of our needs and ongoing opportunities."

The mayor's visit to the White House signifies a significant opportunity to showcase Covington's progress and advocate for continued investment in the city's infrastructure projects.
