COVINGTON, Ky. – The residents of Covington are in for a treat this weekend with a range of exciting events happening around town. From a Full Moon Fest to a Goat Soap Workshop, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the highlight events is the Full Moon Fest at Creative House of Art & Design (CHAD). This festival invites attendees to explore their repressed fears and insecurities that may be holding them back from living their best life. The Full Wolf Moon in the zodiac sign of Leo and its opposition to Pluto signifies a karmic death and rebirth. According to the organizers, this event will help participants let go of people, thoughts, or things that limit their potential. It promises to be a transformative experience.
Speaking about the Full Moon Fest, the organizers at CHAD said, "What's holding you back? Get to the bottom of it tonight with someone who can turn a card or look at your palm and say, 'Whoa.'"
In addition to the Full Moon Fest, residents can also look forward to the Bahh … Goat Soap Workshop at The Roost Latonia. This workshop will teach participants how to make soap from goat milk, which is known for its natural cleansing properties. Goat milk soap balances the pH of the skin and can brighten the skin tone. It also contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy that acts as a mild exfoliant and has antioxidant properties. The workshop aims to provide attendees with the knowledge and skills to create their own goat soap using goat milk.
The organizers of the Goat Soap Workshop explained, "Did you know that soap made from goat milk is a natural cleanser that balances skin pH because, believe it or not, goat milk has a similar pH to our own skin? Odds are it will brighten your skin tone because lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy that serves as a mild exfoliant, and as such, and it has antioxidant properties of vitamins A,C,D, E, and B. Plus, goat milk has selenium and that might help prevent skin cancer."
For those looking for a fun and creative evening, the Drink Draw & Drag event at CHAD on Saturday is a must-attend. This event offers participants the opportunity to create artwork while enjoying their first drink of the evening and delicious charcuterie. The highlight of the night will be an "epic" drag performance featuring Queen Quasi. The theme for the evening is '90s cartoons, so attendees are encouraged to brush up on their favorite characters from that era.
In addition to these events, there will also be a Hit Seekers Sports Cards & Memorabilia Show at Braxton Brewing Co. Card enthusiasts and collectors can browse through a wide selection of sports cards and memorabilia, with the chance to find rare and valuable items.
With live music performances, a paint party, trivia nights, and more, the residents of Covington have plenty of options to choose from this weekend.
So, mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy a weekend filled with creativity, self-discovery, and fun in Covington.
