YMCA of the USA Taps Abigail Farris Rogers as EVP/Chief Development Officer
YMCA of the USA (Y-USA), the national resource office for the 2,560 Ys across the country, has appointed Abigail (Abby) Farris Rogers as their new Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer. In her new role, Rogers will be responsible for leading Y-USA’s philanthropic and strategic partnership development activities – including corporate, foundation and government funding.
“Abby steps into this role with a unique combination of deep executive leadership and financial development experience in our organization,” said Suzanne McCormack, President and CEO of Y-USA. “She is passionate about the Y’s mission and our impact in communities, and she will partner with YMCA leaders across the country to make a compelling case for greater philanthropic support for the Y locally and nationally.”
Rogers joins Y-USA after serving as President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Richmond (Virginia) for the past two years. Prior to that, she was the Richmond Y’s Executive Vice President and Chief Advancement Officer for eight years and was responsible for ensuring strategic coordination of community partnerships, fundraising and volunteerism to support the Y’s mission and 10-year strategic plan. For more than a decade, Abby was the owner of a consulting firm specializing in business development and client management for political, corporate and nonprofit organizations.
“I’m thrilled to join Y-USA and amplify our work to new partners and funders,” said Rogers. “I know first hand the impact the Y has on the communities it serves and hope to bring that story to life, ensuring Ys across the country can access funds to better support the mission.”
