Pats Place 10 on NAIA Scholar Athlete List
Cumberlands women's soccer has done nothing but showcase their skills this season on the pitch, and in the classroom. The team had 10 student-athletes recognized as a 2022 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, announced by the national office on Monday
Two student-athletes garner the honor for the third time in their career in Laura Navajas and Selena Barnett. While Laura Vogt, Irene Medina, Amy Anderson, Savannah Prigmore and Jayden Boelter earn th award for the second time in their careers. Also receiving honors for the first time is Rita Aguye Cots, Olaya Blanco and Georgia Martell.
This Fall, the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete programs recognizes men's soccer players from 170 institutions. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
The Pats continue their season in Orange Beach, AL this week competing at the NAIA Tournament. UC faces off against Oklahoma Wesleyan on Friday at 7PM CST.
