This Week in Northern Kentucky Athletics: October 24 – October 30

The calendar has almost reached the end of October, which means its fall championship time and the start of the basketball season for Northern Kentucky Athletics!

This week's slate is highlighted by the men's basketball exhibition opener against Tiffin (Monday, Oct. 24 at 7 PM ET), women's soccer's last match of the season (at home on Wednesday, Oct. 26), two road Horizon League matches for volleyball (Friday and Saturday) and the men's and women's cross country programs toe the line for the 2022 Horizon League Championships (Saturday).

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Monday vs. Tiffin (Exhibition Opener - 7 PM ET): Tickets

Your 2022-23 Northern Kentucky men's basketball program gets its campaign underway with an exhibition game on Monday, Oct. 24 against Tiffin at 7 PM ET at Truist Arena.

Catch the Norse in person for the first time this year and see a group that is looking to make its mark on the Horizon League this season.

MEN'S SOCCER

Tuesday at East Tennessee State (3 PM ET): Watch | Live Stats

The Norse are on the road this week for a non-conference matchup against the Buccaneers of East Tennessee State. NKU will take on ETSU this Tuesday, Oct. 25 from Johnson City. Tenn. at Summers-Taylor Stadium and the match will serve as the lone contest for the Norse this week.

NKU is coming off a 2-2 draw against Horizon League foe Milwaukee last weekend, where the Norse battled the Panthers in their regular season home finale from Scudamore Field. Northern Kentucky found themselves down 2-0 in the first half, but found the equalizers to open the second half to ultimately collect a draw with Milwaukee by the final whistle.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Wednesday vs. Wright State (Oktoberfest - 7 PM ET): Watch | Live Stats | Tickets

Come out on Wednesday night as the Northern Kentucky women's soccer program competes in its last match of the 2022 season, with the Norse hosting rival Wright State on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7 PM ET at the NKU Soccer Stadium. The game will also feature NKU's Oktoberfest celebration, with free Norse steins for fans and supporters in attendance.

The Norse are fresh off a 2-0 shutout victory over Green Bay and look to end the 2022 season on a high note with two straight wins.

VOLLEYBALL

Friday at Milwaukee (7 PM ET): Watch | Live Stats

Saturday at Green Bay (5 PM ET): Watch | Live Stats

NKU sees a pair of crucial Horizon League road matchups this week, as the Norse will visit the Panthers of Milwaukee and Phoenix of Green Bay. Northern Kentucky will make the trip to Milwaukee first on Friday, Oct. 28 and face the Panthers at 7 PM ET, and then turn around to head to Green Bay on Saturday, Oct. 29 for a huge conference rematch slated for a 5 PM ET start.

Northern Kentucky has been on fire lately, winning their last six consecutive matches, which includes sweeps of IUPUI and Robert Morris. The Norse currently sit in a tie for second place in the Horizon League with Green Bay, and both programs trail leader Wright State by two games.

CROSS COUNTRY

Saturday at the Horizon League Championships (W6K – 11 AM ET | M8K – 12 PM ET): Meet Homepage

The Northern Kentucky men's and women's cross country squads are set to do battle at the 2022 Horizon League Championships, hosted at the Oakland University Cross Country Course on Saturday, Oct. 29. The women's 6K championship will get the day started at 11 AM ET while the men's 8K title run will directly follow at noon ET.

Admission is $5 per person while all Horizon League students are free of charge with a valid student ID. Free spectator parking is also available adjacent to the course.
