The Horizon League announced its 2026 All-League teams and individual award winners on May 5, with Northern Kentucky University earning seven selections to the All-League teams, the most of any team in the league. Emma Ginn received the Sportsmanship Award, becoming only the second Norse player to receive this honor.

This recognition highlights both individual achievements and collective effort within Northern Kentucky’s softball program. The awards underscore the team’s performance throughout the season and their representation among top players in the conference.

Emma Ginn has started all 46 games for Northern Kentucky this season, primarily as catcher. “Our team is very proud of Emma and how she competes so gracefully,” said Norse head coach Morgan Gerak. “Emma uses every failure as an opportunity to learn, which is the cornerstone for how she competes every day and a primary contributor to her success.” Gerak also said, “We are thrilled for our players who were recognized on the Horizon League All-League teams. These awards reflect the hard work of our team.”

Jena Rhoads was named to the All-League First Team for her third career honor at NKU, having previously been selected in both 2023 and 2024. Brielle DiMemmo joined Rhoads on this list after a strong season leading several offensive categories for NKU. Kenzie Gulley earned Second Team honors following an impressive freshman year marked by high batting average and stolen bases.

Alicia Flores returned to league recognition with a Second Team selection after posting notable pitching statistics during her junior campaign. Mack Brow earned Third Team honors after stepping into a starting role in all games this season, while Brooke Keltner was also named to Third Team following solid contributions as designated player. Freshman pitcher Makaree Chapman completed NKU’s representation with Third Team honors based on innings pitched and saves.

Northern Kentucky will begin play in the Horizon League Softball Championship on Thursday against either RMU or Detroit Mercy.
